Harold John Hauberg, 99 of Nebraska City, Nebraska,  passed away Friday, October 6, 2017, surrounded by his family at the CHI Health - St. Mary’s Community Hospital in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Harold was born July 26, 1918 in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Martin F. and Nicolena (Moller) Hauberg.  Harold’s marriage to Lorene Faye Peterson gave them three daughters: Anne M., Amy L., and Margaret M; and a son Martin Fredric II. Harold had enlisted in the Army on October 13, 1938, and service his county during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He earned the rank as Captain and was honorable discharged on October 31, 1958. Harold whole life was the Army even after his retirement . He lived in Arizona until 1981, when he moved back to Nebraska City until present. He was a life long member of the: Bethel United Church of Christ; Master Mason in the Western Star Lodge #2 Masonic Lodge; Queen Esther Chapter #1 Order of Eastern Star, (which he was a past Patron); all in Nebraska City. Harold was also involved in the: Retired Officers Association of Washington, D.C.; Life member of VFW Post #2634; the 17th Infantry Association.; the 7th Infantry Division Association; and the Combat Infantrymen Association. Harold also enjoyed being with his family and friends. Preceding Harold in passing were his parents, Nicolena (Moller) and Martin Hauberg, I of Talmage, Nebraska; former wife, Lorene Hauberg; a brother Chester Goldberry; sister, Jesse Hobbie; and son, Martin Fredric Hauberg, II.  
Survivors of Harold are his; daughters; Anne Montag of Stanton, Nebraska, Amy Lou Hauberg of Nebraska City, Nebraska, and Margaret Marie Hauberg of Wall Lake, Iowa; grandchildren: Rebecca (Rick) Spotanski, Angela (Aaron) Kading and Tonille (Nick) Campanelli, Mitchell (Lori) Miller, Eric (Janelle) Miller, Allen (Bobbi) Scott, Jonathan Gadsden; great grandchildren: Marissa Spotanski, Mollie Spotanski, Bianca Kading, Hallie Kading, Kendra Miller, Alexandra Scott, Marcus Spotanski, Zack Scott, Bryant Scott, Dastin Lawler, Asher Lawler, Carter Kading, Jacob Miller, Travis Miller; other extended relatives and many friends.
There will be no viewing or visitation. 
A Celebration Life Memorial Funeral Service will be held at the Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebraska City, Nebraska on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., burial of Harold’s ashes will follow at the Wyuka Cemetery, in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Military Rites will be given by Army and  the Nebraska National Guard Funerals Honor Detail.
Memorial donations may be given in memory of Harold John Hauberg to the U.S. Army Emergency Relief Fund.
