Helen L. (Burger) Niebruegge, 83, of Nebraska City, Nebraska, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016, at the CHI Health St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. Helen Louise Burger was born on Sunday, May 9, 1932, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, the daughter of Ernest and Augusta (Huss) Burger. Helen worked in the local shirt factory for many years before she started working at the Farmers Bank and Trust in Nebraska City. On September 5, 1964, Helen and Harold Henry Niebruegge were united in marriage at the Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebraska City. They made their home on the family farm southwest of Nebraska City. She helped Harold on the farm and managed the home. To their union they gave birth to a son, Neal. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Helen was a long time member of the Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebraska City. She passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016, with her family at her side, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 2 days. Helen was preceded by her parents, husband on March 7, 2014; brother Harry Burger; and sisters: Rosie Morris and Clara Heng.
Survivors of Helen include her son, Neal Niebruegge of Nebraska City, Nebraska and his friend Lisa Hoffman; brother Albert Burger and wife Rose Mary of Nebraska City, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Maxine Burger of Nebraska City, Nebraska; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and many friends.
