Wanda Christine (Humphrey) Cooper, 71 years , 5 months, and 2 days, of Wichita KS, formerly of Lincoln, NE, died at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 24, 2015.
Wanda was born on Wednesday, March 22, 1944 in Auburn , NE to Herbert and Eileen (Biere) Humphrey. She married Paul A. Cooper on February 26, 1961, in Auburn, NE and moved to Nebraska City, NE. Over nine years, the couple welcomed three children: Vicky, Patrick and Michael, into their home and Wanda set about teaching them the determination, hard work, and integrity that would forge their eventual careers in the United States Armed Forces. Her children remember her as a charismatic, sweet and loving woman, and a devoted mother, who encouraged them to pursue their goals. She was a hardworking individual who was always giving of herself to others, expecting nothing in return. She loved crafting, being creative, and the holiday season, no one who met her will ever forget Halloween with "Wanda the Witch". She is preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Eileen Humphrey. Wanda will forever be remembered as an amazing, giving and wonderful, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend
Wanda is survived by her siblings, Ronnie Humphrey and wife Ladonna of Lincoln, NE and Sandy Snover and husband Don of Yuma, AZ; her husband of 54 years, Paul A. Cooper; her children, Vicky Stevens and husband Greg of Wichita KS, Patrick Cooper and wife Katrina of Chugiak, AK, and Michael Cooper and wife Kathryn of Aurora CO; her six grandchildren and her ten great-grandchildren.
