Donald "Don" C Bremer

Donald C. Bremer was born on April 27, 1925, on the family farm near Lorton, NE, George H. and Sarah (Moyer) Bremer. He was know by his family and friends as Don. After graduating from the Dunbar High School, in 1942, he enlisted in Army. Don spent 2 years stationed in the U. S. Military mission in the Russian Zone of Potsdam, Germany.  Upon return to civilian life, he married, the love of his life, Norma Dea Walker, on December 21, 1952, in Dunbar, NE. They enjoyed 45 years of wonderful married life, until her passing on November 25, 1997. They have traveled extensively including trips to India, Pakistan, Chine, Russia (twice), Kenya (camera safari), and La Paz, Bolivia. They also traveled extensively and often throughout the United States and Canada. Don was a farmer by trade and farmed the family farm near Dunbar, NE, until he retired in 1992, and his wife, Norma Dea taught school in Nebraska City, NE for 42 years. Don was a great athlete, which included: baseball, basketball and bowling (which he would still do in his later years). The last 15 years, Don would divide his time between Nebraska City and Lincoln, NE, with his long-time friend and care giver, Velma Miller. Don was preceded in death by his: parents, George and Sarah; wife, Norma Dea; and brother Keith.
Survivors of Don include his: brother, Melvin Bremer and wife Marlene of Lompoc. CA; sister-in-law, Carole (Keith) Bremer of Hockessin, DE; nieces: Kimberly Yurisich and husband Steve of London, England, Kathryn Bremer of Tumacacori, AZ,  Karyn Griffin and husband Mike of Chesterfield, MO, and Kay Shelton and husband Tom of Dallas, TX; nephew, Bryan Bremer and wife Stephanie of Atascadero, CA; long time friend and care giver Velma Miller of Lincoln, NE; and other relatives and friends.
