Nancy Lee (Crook) Hathaway

Nancy Lee (Crook)Hathaway , 74 years, 8 months and 26 days, of Union, Nebraska, passed away on October 13, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family.
Nancy Lee Crook was born January 17, 1942, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, the daughter of Charles P. and Marjorie (Eaton) Crook.  On December 17, 1959, Nancy and Larry Ray Hathaway were united in marriage in Rock Port, Missouri. To their union they had a son, Larry Lee, and a daughter Jill Nadine. She was a life long resident of  Union, Nebraska, where Nancy and Larry raised their children. She held many different jobs, which included: American Meter, Union Orchard, Walmart and lately at Peterson Mortuary, since 1984. Nancy was very out going and would go out of her way to make a person feel loved. Nancy was the rock of the family and was the care giver for all of them. She enjoyed working in her yard raising flowers, making jams and crocheting which she would give out as Christmas gifts. She was active in Order of Eastern Star and was a past Worthy Matron. Nancy was preceded in passing by her father, on February 23, 1986; daughter, Jill Nadine Jones on January 19, 2009; mother, on September 27, 2013; and her husband on January 30, 2016.
Survivors of Nancy include  her son, Larry Lee Hathaway and his wife Lisa, of Union, Nebraska; her 4 granddaughters: Ashley Hathaway and her fiancée Jesse Drumheller of Union, Nebraska, Maegan Balfour and her husband Nolan of Nehawka, Nebraska, Nadine Jones-Kucera of Omaha, Nebraska, and Natalie Jones and her fiancée  Stephen Green of Omaha, Nebraska; 6 great grandchildren, Chloe D. Cavanzon, Augustus “Gus” Drumheller, Gavin K. Balfour, Acelyn J. Kucera, Grace M. Balfour and Rexton Green; sister, Mary S. Smith of Spokane, Washington; brothers: Leonard C. Crook and wife Peggy of Nebraska City, Nebraska, and Larry A. Crook and wife Vicki of Nehawka, Nebraska; many other family members; and friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 16, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. the family will be greeting friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with Queen Esther Chapter #1, Order of Eastern Star 6:00 p.m. at Peterson Mortuary Chapel.
Celebration of Life Funeral service for Nancy Lee Hathaway will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Burial will follow at East Union Cemetery near Union, Nebraska.
